Overview

These courses fulfil the legal requirement to inform employees in accordance with the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations and the Approved Code of Practice.

For years, asbestos was hailed as a miracle product – incredibly strong, fireproof and an excellent insulator. This meant it was used in thousands of different applications.

Today, we are aware of just how dangerous this material can be. The law requires that anyone potentially working near asbestos receives advice on how to identify asbestos. This involves learning about who and when to inform relative bodies and other safety precautions.

Each course consists of a theory session to provide the knowledge essential to identifying asbestos safely.

Course Agenda

Our half day course will give delegates knowledge and understanding of:

An introduction to asbestos
How to identify the different types of asbestos
Understand where they are most commonly found
Understand the risks to health involved with asbestos
The control of asbestos regulations 2006
Be given an overview of methods for monitoring asbestos

Certification

Delegates successfully completing the course will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
