For a Competent Person - Course RTW162

Aims:

To enable a user to correctly fit, carryout a thorough inspection and storage of personal fall protection.

Objectives:

On successful completion the participant will be able to:-

• Be aware of the relevant Health & Safety Regulations
• Be aware of the needs with regard to Personnel Protection Equipment and Requirements
• Be able to identify and select the correct form of harness for use.
• To be able to carryout a thorough inspection of fall protection equipment.
• To be able to safely store harnesses and ancillary equipment
• To be able to fit and use the harness identified correctly..

Course Content:

• Fall Arrest, Work Restraint, Work Positioning.
• Harnesses suitable for working at heights.
• Correct fitting & adjustment of a full body harness
• Selection of a suitable lanyard.
• Anchorage points suitable for use with height safety equipment.
• CE Certification, conformity and record keeping.
• Carryout a thorough Inspection and Identify any damage to harnesses, lanyards, and industrial connectors.
• Safe and correct storage of harnesses and ancillary equipment
• Practical Tests
• Theory Test.
• Feedback

Duration :

• 1 day
• Maximum of 6 people

All applicants should be a minimum of 18 years old and physically fit.
