This course is designed for existing operators who have not undergone any formal training to understand the engineering principles and safe operational practice of lift trucks. The existing operators must have sufficient experience to manoeuvre the lift truck in a confined area, and be able to handle loads to the maximum stacking height within their working environment.
To enable participants to acquire the skills and knowledge required to operate lift trucks safely and efficiently, and to take both theoretical and practical tests. The practical test will either be the JIC recommended test, the NPORS test, or an appropriate test devised to incorporate the operation use of the lift truck within the trainees working environment. The practical test will be decided upon prior to the commencement of the course, depending on a site survey or information provided by the company requesting training.
Proof of experience or training must be provided.
Where subjects may not be covered practicably, they will either be simulated or covered orally followed by an appropriate theoretical test.
