360 Excavator Course – 3 to 5 Tonnes

Course Introduction

With this course, you can rest assured that your staff possess the theoretical knowledge and have had the practical training to safely operate a tracked 360 excavator carrying between three and five tonnes. The course meets the statutory requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, as well as other approved codes of practice and relevant statutory provisions.

Course Content

Control Familiarisation
Basic Driving Procedures and Practice
Parking the Excavator and Road and Site Travelling
Trenching and Back-Filling Procedures
Theory and Practical Tests
Pre-Start Checks and Basic Maintenance Procedures
Use of Hydraulic Controls
Excavating and Digging Procedures
Site Levelling and Ground Consolidation

Please be aware that, to complete the practical sections of the course, you will need a suitable area to dig trenches. This will leave the ground disturbed.

Course Duration

The course is available in three different varieties, all of which run for different periods of time. They are:

Novice Course: Runs for five days and caters for three delegates.
Existing Operators Course: Lasts for two days and hosts four operators.
Refresher Course: Takes place over one day and accommodates up to three certified operators.

Please note that, for all refresher or reregistration courses, proof of prior training must be provided.
